Hand-finished by violin maker Zach Sears in Vancouver, Washington, ZS Strings No. 016 is based on the celebrated 1742 "Lord Wilton" Guarneri del Gesù. Beginning as a carefully selected white violin, the instrument was extensively regraduated to optimize plate tuning and tonal response before being individually varnished and professionally set up.
 
The result is a violin with exceptional responsiveness, a rich and resonant voice, and the ease of play that players appreciate from the very first note. It speaks quickly under the bow while maintaining warmth, depth, and excellent projection across all registers.
 
Finished in a beautiful honey-brown spirit varnish, the instrument features a striking one-piece flamed maple back, premium ebony fittings, and an ebony harp-style tailpiece.
