A professionally set up, fully carved cello designed to take students well beyond the beginner level.
The ZS Strings Student Series CLO 100 Cello was selected to provide developing cellists with the sound, response, and playability of a genuine carved instrument at an accessible price. Rather than the heavy, basic instruments commonly found in student rental fleets, the CLO 100 features a solid carved spruce top with carved maple back and sides, giving it a warm, resonant tone with plenty of room for a student to grow.
Every CLO 100 is professionally inspected and set up by ZS Strings for comfortable playability, proper response, and balanced tone. We also upgrade the strings with a combination of D’Addario Helicore C and G strings and Jargar Classic D and A strings, giving the cello a strong lower register with a clear, responsive upper range.

Professionally Set Up
A cello is only as good as its setup. Each CLO 100 is individually inspected and adjusted by ZS Strings for tone, response, comfort, and playability before it reaches the player.
This makes the CLO 100 an excellent choice not only for a beginning student, but for a developing cellist who needs an instrument capable of continuing with them as their playing advances.

ZS Strings Student Series
Our Student Series instruments are chosen with the same priorities we bring to instruments throughout the ZS Strings shop: good materials, proper construction, professional setup, and instruments that are enjoyable to play.
The goal isn't simply to provide a student's first cello—it's to provide an instrument they won't immediately outgrow.
